WHAT
DO YOU GET WHEN YOU CROSS ROCK N ROLL WITH COUNTRY? ALL
MY ROWDY FRIENDS In
the summer of 2008, Frank
Morrow was jamming with a group of musicians at The Last Resort in
Smithfield NC. Frank, (with
a striking resemblance to Hank Williams Jr.) sang some Hank Jr. tunes
and the crowd loved it! Tommy
Redd (of Nantucket and Boogie Chillins fame) was on stage with him that
day. He asked Frank later
why he didn’t form a Hank Jr. tribute band.
In January 2009, Frank approached Tommy about helping to get a
band together. They started
to work learning songs that most Rock n Roll musicians had only heard.
They continued tweaking the band and members until they had the
ultimate Hank Williams Jr. Tribute band, known as All My Rowdy Friends.
With Frank on lead vocals, Tommy Redd on guitar and vocals,
Lightnin’ on vocals and percussion, “Too Tall” Tommy Evans of
Raleigh NC on lead guitar, Wallace Cooley of Youngsville NC on bass, and
Phil Falco of Raleigh NC on drums and everybody lending a hand on backup
vocals. Its easy to see
why we were rated the number one band at the 2010 Ray Price Capital City
Bike Fest. The band has also
won the 2011 Charlotte Music Awards "Best Country Tribute Band of
the year". Our live
shows puts the party in high gear whether it’s a biker bar, annual
event, or a rockin’ country club.
All My Rowdy Friends fit right in and gets the party started!

WHO IS TOMMY REDD??? That's a strange question for those of us from the South....any self respecting club circuit, baby booming, maniac knows who Nantucket and Tommy Redd are...any way...for the rest of you...Tommy Redd gained fame as the song writer/guitarist for the band Nantucket. First signed to Epic Records in 1978, Tommy wrote all songs for the first two albums (their most successful) and most tunes on the next six albums. Nantucket toured with Kiss, AC/DC, Styx, Journey, Bob Seger, Mother's Finest and many many others. And by the way...Tommy Redd is still amazingly active and continues to play. Tommy wrote killer hits for Nantucket...."Is It Wrong To Rock and Roll?" "Heartbreaker" "Born In A Honky Tonk" and many more. |
